The County Durham individual’s championships took place at Longfield School on the 11 th of February. Bishop Auckland TTC had over 12 players taking part with the winners of the age groups qualifying for the National School finals later in the year.
In their first ever tournament, Charlotte Higgins and Halle Tallentire came first and third in the under 11 girls event, The Under 11 boys saw 9-year- old Ben Mold come in 3 rd place in the under 11s with 3 years still in this age group. Then saw a series of Bishop Auckland 1-2’s with Amy Mold beating Anya Milne in the under 13 Girls’. Max Duffin beat Sam Hume in the under 16s Boys. Luke Mitchell came 3 rd in the u13’s boys only losing to two highly ranked players. Edward Sett finished off the day coming home with Gold in the under 19s boys.
The club is open to people of all ages and abilities, running weekly coaching sessions and social sessions and is open to anyone.
