With a lineup of popular artists such as Lewis Capaldi, Lizzo and Harry Styles among others who took the stage at this years past Brit Awards, it begged the question which past Brits performance is most popular?

With this in mind, RantCasino.com sought to discover the most popular performances from the Brit Awards. This was achieved by ranking past performances on the number of YouTube likes per 1,000 views, thus creating a popularity score out of 10.

The ex-boyband scored almost a third higher than Corinne Bailey Rae in 10th with 2007’s ‘Put Your Records On’ performance [6.88/10].

  • Amy Winehouse – Rehab – 2007

Amy’s 2007 performance of ‘Rehab’ is 15% higher than 2008’s ‘Valerie’ collaboration with Mark Ronson [7.44/10], which places 6th on the list.

Winehouse also ranks in fifth for her performance of Love Is A Losing Game at the 2008 Brits, scoring 7.74/10.

YouTube Popularity Score: 8.81

Katy’s 2014 performance is 17% higher than Ellie Goulding’s 8th place “I Need Your Love” and “Burn” performance [7.26/10], from the same year.

Likes per 1,000 views: 21.90

YouTube Popularity Score: 8.77

Florence + The Machine’s performance in 2012 scores 19% higher than Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ performance [6.93/10] from the same year, which ranks 9th on the list.

Likes per 1,000 views: 30.60

YouTube Popularity Score: 8.61 

Amy Winhouse’s 2008 performance scores 5% higher than Leona Lewis’ ‘Bleeding Love’ performance, which ranks 7th [7.29], from the same year.

Likes per 1,000 views: 20.95

Methodology: 

  1. RantCasino.com sought to calculate the most popular Brit Awards performance of all time
  2. By utilising information from the Brits’ YouTube channel, all performances posted have had their likes and views counted and recorded.
  3. The average number of likes for each performance were divided by the number of views and then multiplied by 1000 to give the likes per 1000 views.
  4. To create a score for each performance, a weighted-average of  the percentrank of number of likes, number of views and likes per 1000 views was taken.
  5. The scores were then amalgamated and ranked in descending order to find the most popular Brits performance of all time.
  6. All data was collected in January 2023 and is accurate as of then.
