North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

A LEADING Newcastle restaurant is taking the pressure off finding a Mother’s Day gift, with its latest special offer.

The Union Rooms, at Westgate Road, has launched a new afternoon tea just in time for the occasion, which this year falls on 31 March.

Diners treating their mums with a visit to the Union Rooms on Mothering Sunday can now book to enjoy Pinkster Gin afternoon tea.

Offering a twist on the traditional, the Union Rooms’ new dining option is served with a glass of either prosecco or Pinkster Gin.

Priced at £19.95 per person, the afternoon tea includes a selection of freshly prepared finger sandwiches, warm scones served with Pinkster Gin jam and clotted cream and an array of sweet treats, including miniature cakes, pastries and petit fours.

Stuart Young, of Cyclone Leisure Group, which owns the Union Rooms, believes it has great appeal.

“While it’s important to be grateful for all the things mums do every day, Mother’s Day is great excuse to make sure she has one day in particular where she feels extra special,” said Stuart.

“With this in mind, our chefs have created some fantastic sweet and savoury treats that I’m sure will be very popular.

“Afternoon tea is a great gift to spend some quality time with mum on her special day and enjoying it with a glass of bubbly or pink gin adds an extra level of luxury.”

Pinkster Gin afternoon tea must be booked in advance and is available from 31 March.
