Hambleton is a step closer to having its first triathlon club in the district.
An open meeting is being held for anybody interested in taking part or volunteering in triathlon, which combines swimming, cycling and running. British Triathlon and a Level 3 coach will be at the meeting to provide information and support.
The opportunity is open to anyone 16+, regardless of ability. Previous experience and skills are welcome but not necessary.
“This is an exciting, new project between the district council, British Triathlon, North Yorkshire Sport and Sport England,” said Clare Lowe, Development officer (Funding and Advice).
“We hope that anyone interested in taking part in triathlon will join us at the meeting.”
The event takes place on Saturday 9 July at Thirsk and Sowerby Leisure Centre at 5pm.
