Two North East businesses are gearing up for an epic challenge to raise money for people experiencing severe financial hardship.
Employees from Home Group and Mediaworks are joining forces to take on a 200 mile cycle ride from Peterborough to London, with donations and sponsorship going to the Home Group Fund.
The Fund, which has been running for over 10 years, helps vulnerable Home Group customers in a range of different ways; from paying for essentials, such as food and clothing, to accessing training, education or employment opportunities.
Chris Healy, Lead Asset Manager at Home Group and the event’s organiser, said: “Everyone is excited about the challenge ahead and it’s great to see so many businesses coming together to support such an important cause.
“I’ve seen first-hand the impact that the Home Group Fund can have on our customers’ lives, so to be able to help raise money for those in need of support is a real privilege.”
Home Group is a social enterprise and charity that is one of the UK’s largest providers of high quality housing, integrated health and social care.
The cycle ride will be the biggest fundraising event the organisation has ever undertaken, with 30 riders taking on the three day challenge held between the 1st and 3rd of June.
Alongside Mediaworks, also sponsoring the event are Field Consulting, Gavin Black & Partners, P+HS Architects, This Is Interiors and Mears Group.
