A Darlington-based luxury kitchen company is on track for a record year after a period of significant growth.
Oakstone Designs, which specialises in the design, construction and installation of stunning high quality kitchens, is set to achieve its greatest year yet, since it was established in 2004.
The Company has already received the same value of orders in the first six months of this year, as the total amount of the orders it acquired in 2015.
As a result, the Company has decided to make several investments including: increasing its production capacity, redeveloping the interior of its workshop space, purchasing new machinery, as well as plans to appoint a new cabinet maker and an apprentice.
Oakstone Designs’ founder, Stephen Kennedy, believes the reason for the continual growth of the firm is down to the business’ genuine desire to have happy customers.
He said: “We use the finest materials and construction methods in our kitchens and the quality of our furniture and designs is first class. I believe this is why we have continued to grow at an exceptional rate.
“It’s been a very exciting time for us and we’ve been invited to design some magnificent projects this year, which we are really looking forward to seeing come to fruition.”
Following a highly successful year in 2015, the Company opened a new state-of-the-art showroom in the Grange Road area, which showcases some of Oakstone Designs’ best work and will be used to host cooking demonstration evenings and wine tastings.
To help with the increasing demands for Oakstone Designs’ services, the business also invested in a new website and advertising campaign, alongside employing award-winning designer, George Campbell, who brought with him over 30 years’ industry experience.
Stephen believes the recent, and future investments of the Company are fundamental to the development of the business.
Speaking about George’s appointment, he said: “George has truly embraced Oakstone Designs’ ethos and brings a wealth of design knowledge and customer service with him.
“I met George in 2015 at an awards ceremony, where he was winning a national award for best showroom design, and I was quickly struck by his passion for good design, quality materials and conviction that happy customers are key to a good business.”
The flagship showroom has been a real labour of love and gives customers a fantastic opportunity to see the high quality services the Company offers.
Stephen added: “As a truly bespoke company, I feel the showroom will always be a work in progress, as we will always be wanting to show off our latest designs, but I quite like the thought of that because it makes it a developing and creative space.”
