Following the success of a coffee morning held in November, Head of Steam – Darlington Railway Museum is once again inviting former North Road Works employees the chance to catch up with former colleagues.
A special coffee morning will be held at the museum on Friday 13 January, 11am-1pm, when guests will also be able to enjoy an exclusive preview of a new exhibition ‘North Road Works – Fifty Years of Memories’.
The exhibition, which runs until Sunday 15 March, is the culmination of a year-long project to commemorate the 50 year milestone since the closure of the locomotive works in 1966.
As part of the project an online archive of memories was created by former employees, their relatives and people who lived nearby. The memories are available to read online at https://northroadworksmemories.wordpress.com/
Alison Grange, collections and learning assistant at the Head of Steam said:
“This is another fantastic opportunity for former colleagues to catch up and have a special preview of an exhibition that they contributed to.”
The coffee morning is free and there is no need to book. For further information contact 01325 405060
