MIDDLESBROUGH’S popular Orange Pip Market welcomes a record number of traders tomorrow (Saturday, October 29) – as well as first rate musical entertainment.
With the weather getting less delightful following a fantastic first few months for Orange Pip, its organisers wanted to give loyal visitors an extra special reason to keep coming.
Here’s the full line-up:
BANDS
1pm – Elaine Palmer – Doyenne of the singer-songwriter scene, amazing vocals and passion in spades.
2.30pm – James Leonard Hewitson – melodic anti-folk from this Hartlepool lad who is one sixth of Kingsley Chapman &The Murder and has worked with the likes Frankie & The Heartstrings (supporting The Charlatans).
4pm – Galaxians – Delicious disco milkshake featuring vocalist Emma Mason.
In the words of the NME:
“The spirit of disco is alive and well in Yorkshire. The house-influenced duo tear up every show they play, regardless of who they’re billed with. A room full of indie kids, a room full of disco lovers, a room full of punks – they all fall hard for the Galaxians party.”
5.30pm – The Baghdaddies – an exhilarating cocktail of Balkan melodies, ska and latin grooves and sizzling brass played with furious energy and theatrical humour, making them as unforgettable on stage as they are when performing as wandering brass troubadours.
