History enthusiasts interested in the North East’s rich heritage of licensing and brewing beer are in for a real treat at this week’s Wednesday Heritage club talk (Wednesday 9 March) in South Tyneside.
Popular publisher Andrew Clark will give an illustrated talk entitled ‘Pubs, Brewers and Beer’ in theLibrary Theatre at Central Library, South Shields at 2pm.
Andrew’s talk will discuss the history of great regional breweries including Scottish & Newcastle, Vaux and Deuchars as well as the many pubs in South Shields some of which are still going strong.
A popular speaker with heritage fans, Andrew has previously spoken at the Wednesday Heritage Club about various topics including wartime memories and North East life in the 30s, 40s and 50s. He always encourages members of the audience to join in and offer their own memories, stories and experiences.
