A LEADING North East spa is proving that leaving out animal products does not have to mean missing out on taste, with a brand new vegan menu.
Fusion, at the Spa at Ramside – part of County Durham’s Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa – has revealed new animal-free starters, mains, sides and even options for the popular bento boxes.
Diners can start with an appetiser of steamed edamame beans or roasted spiced cashew nuts, before choosing from starters such as tempura vegetables, roasted sweet potato, steamed bao or healthy vegetable sushi.
For the main course, options include teriyaki don, maple chilli tofu and traditional Thai yellow curry, with a choice of sweet potato and aubergine or tofu.
Or fans of the healthy bento boxes can choose from dishes such as vegetable maki sushi, mixed avocado salad, Vietnamese vegetable spring roll and Shanghai noodles with tofu, all served with steamed jasmine rice.
And the restaurant also offers a number of free-from sides, with fries, coconut rice, spiced sweet potato fries and wok fried greens all on the menu.
Tom Hall, Fusion manager, hopes the new options will have a wide appeal.
“We’ve worked hard to create some delicious new dishes to give diners a wide variety to choose from,” said Tom.
“Whether Fusion visitors are following a vegan diet or just looking to try something new, we have some great options on offer that I think will be very popular additions to our main menu.”
Fusion also offers a wide range of dishes for brunch, lunch and dinner, along with an Asian-inspired afternoon tea.
