THE FIRST ever Lobster Ball will seem like it was just ‘yesterday’ for guests heading to this year’s event.

The annual ball takes place on 17 May at Hardwick Hall Hotel, at Sedgefield, County Durham, with a first class line-up of entertainment.

And it will be a homecoming of sorts for headline act, The Bootleg Beatles, who return to the fundraiser having played at the first Lobster Ball more than a decade ago.

The acclaimed The Beatles tribute act have toured as the fab foursome for more than thirty years and first performed at the event alongside comedian Bobby Davro in 2006, when it was a daytime fundraiser called the Lobster Festival.

This year, the group will be joined on the line-up by singer, Diane Shaw performing Motown classics and tribute act, Rob Lamberti delivering George Michael’s best hits from both his Wham! days and solo career.

The black tie evening is in aid of Daisy Chain, which supports families affected by autism, and will be compered by Steve Wallis, with a fashion show from Durham-based menswear brand Woven.

John Adamson, owner of Ramside Estates which owns Hardwick Hall Hotel, is delighted that the band is returning to the fundraiser.

“The Lobster Ball has gone through a number of changes over the years but one thing that hasn’t changed is the quality of the entertainment,” said John.

“It is fantastic to welcome The Bootleg Beatles back to the event that they helped to kick-start more than a decade ago.

“The group are incredibly talented performers who put on an amazing show and guests at this year’s ball are certain to have a fantastic evening.”

Tickets cost £145pp plus VAT which includes a drinks reception, canapes, a four course lobster surf and turf menu by the award-winning chefs at the Rib Room Steakhouse and Grill and complimentary wine, lager and beer.
