Road resurfacing work is to be carried out at Chester-le-Street next week.
Durham County Council is to resurface a section of the C183 Pelaw Bank, with work to begin on Sunday 17 July and expected to be complete by Friday 22 July.
Work will take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day.
The road will be closed from its junction with Villiers Place to the Hilda Terrace junction with Glenmore Avenue, while work is being carried out.
Diversion routes will be in place with signs to inform drivers.
Residents will still be able to access their homes although at certain times vehicular access will be restricted.
People living on Viador and Woodlands will be asked to access their homes via Newcastle Road and Pelaw Bank.
John Reed, the council’s head of technical services, said: “This work is part of our ongoing capital maintenance programme to resurface the road network across the county, for the benefit of all users.
“We thank motorists in advance for their patience while this work is carried out.”
