- Attendees included a special visit from the Mayor of Mayor of North Tyneside, Norma Redfearn
Home improvement retailer, Wickes, celebrated the opening of its new-look store in Wallsend with a family fun weekend and exclusive discounts.
Sharon Mackay, who originally opened the Wickes Wallsend store 26 years ago in June 1993, attended the opening on Friday 20th September. She officially re-opened the store alongside the Mayor of Mayor of North Tyneside, Norma Redfearn, to cut the ribbon.
Face painters, balloons and cupcakes kept the whole family entertained and exclusive discounts ran Friday to Sunday. Those in store on Saturday 21st September also had the chance to meet one of the UK’s most famous four-legged mascots as the Dulux dog was in store for the day.
The new Wickes store features a brand-new kitchen and bathroom showroom to help customers get inspired and plan their dream home. Expert Design Consultants are on hand to provide advice to customers who are undergoing transformation projects, together with providing a free design service. There’s also an in-store Dulux colour mixing service, as well as a wide range of new products, from stylish flooring to gardening items, to help create the perfect space indoors and out.
Paul Ewart, Store Manager at Wickes, Wallsend comments: “Shopping for home improvement projects will now be simpler than ever before, thanks to the revamp of the store and the new layout will make it easier for customers to find everything they need.
