Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Save the date, students

SUNDERLAND’S leading shopping centre is preparing to welcome new and old students to the city – with a special evening of exclusive discounts, DJs and giveaways.

On Monday 2 October, the Bridges shopping centre, Sunderland, will be hosting its annual Student Raid: a special, one night shopping event for people attending the region’s universities or colleges.

And this year’s raid, which is now in its seventh year, is set to be the biggest and most memorable yet.

The Bridges has partnered up with leading student discount provider UNiDAYS to promote the night – which runs from 6.30pm until late – and already, dozens of the shopping centre’s retailers have signed up to take part.

Stores offering discounts include Topshop, River Island and Footasylum offering 20 per cent off with some other retailers discounting items by as much as 30 per cent.

Activities within the centre on the night include games, giveaways and competitions.

Samantha Czwordon-Wright, marketing manager at the Bridges is delighted to see the popular event return:

“The student raid is one of our favourite events we hold here at the Bridges and once again, we are amazed at the fantastic discounts that many of our retailers will be offering,” she said.

“The event is always really popular and it’s a great way for us to showcase the strong retail offering we have here, to both new and returning students.”

The event is free to attend but students must register beforehand by visiting the Bridges website from September.
