PLACES are still available on a sign language course at Grove Hill Hub from the end of this month.

The 11-week course starts on Wednesday, April 26 and will cover sign language with Makaton sign and symbols.

The technique is used in schools to support communication with those with autism, speech delay, learning difficulties and Down’s Syndrome.

The course – supported by the Workers’ Educational Association – takes place every Wednesday from 10am to noon at Grove Hill Community Hub, Bishopton Road, Grove Hill TS4 2RP.

Wednesday evening sessions have also been added from 6pm to 8pm, and learners can sign up on the day.

The full cost is £58, but the course is free to students and those on means-tested benefits.
