Newcastle Falcons have announced that Samoan winger Sinoti Sinoti has agreed a new long term deal, committing his future to the Kingston Park club.
Having joined the club in December 2013, Sinoti has rapidly established himself as one of the most exciting players in the Aviva Premiership with his fast-paced attack and fleet-footed style of play cementing his place as a fan favourite.
Since making his debut against Sale Sharks in January 2014, Sinoti has went on to make a total of 28 appearances to date, with his first full season at Kingston Park grabbing the attention of fans, pundits and opposition teams alike.
Featuring in 20 out of 22 Premiership games, and scoring nine tries, he also topped the league charts for the number of defenders beaten (85) and meters made (1641) and was also included in the BT Sport team of the season at the Premiership Rugby end of season awards.
With blockbusting power combining with an elusive running style, his season of tormenting opposition defences earned the 30 year old winger with a recall into the Samoan national side for the summer’s Pacific Nations Cup.
Unfortunately, an injury sustained to his lower leg whilst on international duty will rule him out for the club for up to four months.
Director of Rugby Dean Richards said: “Sinoti is a quality player and brings a lot of power, aggression and go-forward to the table. He was excellent for us throughout last season and more than earned the plaudits that came his way.”
“He is understandably a player we wanted to secure for the foreseeable future at the club and we are delighted to have achieved that.”
“With his new deal concluded, he can focus on getting back to full fitness and I’m looking forward to when we can welcome Sinoti back.”
Sinoti Sinoti said: “I’m really pleased that I’m staying at Newcastle, I’ve had a great time at the club so far. I’m really enjoying my rugby and being here in the North East.”
“I’ve been made to feel so welcome by everyone, fans, the rest of the boys and I am just really comfortable here and wanted to stay around. It is a great club with great people and I can’t wait to be back.”
