A look back at the fashions of the 1970s will be on offer at Darlington Libraries next month (July) as the History Wardrobe returns with a groovy new celebration.
The two Lucy’s take on the 1970s will ask ‘What were we thinking?” as they look back on Bri-nylon, Biba, bra-less Women’s Libbers as well as plenty of disco sparkle, psychedelia, Punk, ponchos, hot pants and platforms.
‘What were we thinking?! The 1970s show’ will take place at Crown Street Library on Wednesday 10 July, 6.30-8pm.
Suzy Hill, Library events manager, said:
“The History Wardrobe brings the past to life through the clothes that people wore and this latest show, looking at the 1970s promises plenty of colour and outrageous outfits which included bell bottom pants, frayed jeans, maxi dresses and tie dyed tops to name a few.
“The events are always entertaining and very popular, so make sure you book your tickets soon to ensure you don’t miss out.”
Tickets, price £8 per person, must be booked in advance via Eventbrite at www.eventbrite.co.uk or contact Crown Street Library. Places are limited so book soon to ensure your place.
