The Summerhill Country Café is now open for business.
Based within the Visitors Centre, the café is open every Monday to Saturday from 7am until 7pm, offering a wide range of home-made brunch, lunch, snack and drink options for visitors to enjoy.
Also currently available are a selection of vegan and vegetarian-friendly dishes, gluten-free options and a dog-friendly seating area, with plans in place for the café to soon open on Sundays to introduce hot roast dinners to the menu.
An official café launch is planned to coincide with National Play Day, which will take place on Wednesday 1 August from 10am onwards at Summerhill. The morning will see the official opening of the cafe, before local families will have the chance to try a range of free taster sessions and activities suited to all ages and abilities.
Gemma Ptak, Hartlepool Borough Council’s Assistant Director for Preventative and Community-Based Services said: “We are so pleased to be able to bring this new refreshment offering to the Visitors Centre at Summerhill.
“The menu offers something for everyone – whether you are looking for a delicious brunch to enjoy with friends, a healthy snack, a sweeter treat or something for all the family to tuck in to after school.
“We encourage local residents and those from further afield to show their support for local small businesses by stopping by the café and sampling a little slice of Summerhill heaven.”
