BUDDING entrepreneurs with an idea they want to turn into a viable business are being urged to utilise the expertise of a support organisation.
East Durham Business Service (EDBS) was established over 20 years ago to develop and assist people who wanted to help to turn their vision into a reality.
Since then they have supported hundreds of people into business, with many still operating successfully today.
Now, as statistics show more people than ever before are pursuing a path into self employment, EDBS is calling on people across East Durham to speak to its exerienced advisors to see what support is available to them.
Operations Director Denise Fielding said: “We know there are people out there who have an idea they think could work, or those with a genuine desire to give self employment a try. But often they don’t know where to start or what help they could get to turn their dream into a reality.
“Our team has a wealth of expertise spanning over 25 years and has helped hunderds of people over the last 10 years, many of whom are running successful, growing businesses now.

One of the people who has benefited from support from East Durham Business Service is Emma Summerill.
The 37-year-old launched her business, Emma Isabella Floral Design, three years ago and is seeing it go from strength to strength from premises at York Road in Peterlee.
Emma said: “East Durham Business Service was so supportive, helping me access funding through the New Enterprise Allowance programme, which enabled me to launch the business. Now, three years later the business is doing incredibly well. Becoming self employed was definitely the best thing I ever did.”
East Durham Business Service, which has flexible office space available at it’s centres at Peterlee and Seaham, has access to a number of support programmes which can assist budding entrepreneurs, including New Enterprise Allowance.
