thecitysecret, a Richmond-based financial software developer established in 2000, is expanding its business and bringing fresh new talent to the North East.
The firm, which engineers financial software for large multi-national banks and hedge funds, is taking its expertise and is now applying it to the world of financial technology (FinTech). The move involves expanding both the company’s pool of software developers and its ‘research & development’ division, bringing investment and cutting-edge tech jobs to the rural North East.
One of the new hires is senior software developer Chris Wade, who moved to the North East from Leicester. When asked about joining the team in market town of Richmond, Chris remarked “it’s a brilliant place to work. There’s a great work-life balance, and with the countryside on the doorstep and big cities like Newcastle within easy reach I’m really enjoying exploring everywhere”
Head of HR Sophie Hazell said “It’s great to see this influx of talent to the North East, particularly when they are excited to come here because of everything the North East has to offer”
Ms Hazell emphasised that thecitysecret are also looking to hire candidates from closer to home, adding “We are incredibly keen to hire local developers and try to improve the tech industry in the North East, be that through our innovative apprenticeship programme or our recruitment drives aimed at local university graduates”
“The North East has a huge amount of natural talent, and we want to cement its reputation as a great location for the tech industry and investment in general”
As well as the positions already filled, thecitysecret are on the look-out for more developers to join their team in the coming months. See their website for more details www.thecitysecret.com
