(Tuesday 19th June 2018) The Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle are delighted to announce the introduction of walk through metal detectors to replace and improve the current manual scanning procedure; with the aim of increasing the speed of entry as well as giving our fantastic security team’s arms and backs a rest, these arches will be a huge benefit to all in the attendance of future events.
Being installed this week ahead of Katy Perry on Monday 25th June where the addition to our venue safety will be in action for the first time, the detectors are quick and simple to use and will be a welcome development to further define our security, enhancing the customer experience and ease of entry into the venue with guest safety at the forefront of everything we do.
Positioned externally, these arches will make for quick entry for all into the venue, we would still like to remind patrons to please arrive for doors to assist with smooth entry, allowing time for queues and therefore ensuring everyone is in their seats in time for the show starting.
The Metro Radio Arena also carry out vehicle and ticket checks upon arrival to the venue and our security team would like to remind guests to please leave all backpacks (including small handbag fashion types) and large bags at home and just to bring what you need to have a great time at the Arena.
Continuing to work closely with local and national experts and authorities Ailsa Oliver General Manager for the Metro Radio Arena is consistently reviewing and implementing visible and non-visible approaches to ensure the safety of every guest to her venue, ensuring you the best possible experience with every visit.
Ahead of your next visit we ask you please take the time to familiarise yourself with the venue safety information here http://www.metroradioarena.co.uk/venue-information/venue-safety/ and on arrival please follow stewards instructions for a swift entry into the building.
