The public show feelings about opencast at Druridge with massive petition.

Screen Shot 2015-11-10 at 11.25.13The Save Druridge Group has handed in a petition to County Hall in Morpeth about the proposed opencast near to the coastline at Druridge.

Mike Bird received the Petition from Andy Shelley and Max Tait from Save Druridge.  Mike Bird was accepting on behalf of the Democratic Services of Northumberland County Council and then passed it over to the Planning Department.

There were 3100 signatures handed over on the paper petition and together with an online petition of 5523 signatures, a total of 8623 signatures up to now. 

Save Druridge has been busy with social media too. On Twitter @savedruridge has

1742 followers and their Facebook page has 274.
