Staff at the North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership have earned the prestigious EFQM two star ‘Committed to Excellence’ award.
The procurement of this European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Award was the result of 9 months of hard work, followed by a thorough review and assessment process carried out by EFQM inspectors.
At the beginning of the assessment process, the Partnership had hoped to achieve the minimum standard, however it became evident that this higher level was attainable and was indeed gained, as a result of hard work and dedication from all members of staff.
Whilst there are numerous management tools and techniques commonly used, the EFQM Excellence Model provides an holistic view of an organisation and can be used to determine how different ways of working fit together and complement each other. The Model can therefore be used in conjunction with any number of tools, based on the needs and function of the organisation, as an overarching framework for developing sustainable excellence.
The Award is recognition which is only given to an organisation demonstrating they are truly a Role Model of Excellence.
Les Chapman, Head of North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership, commented “We are delighted to have achieved this award, it has been a great team effort and demonstrates that by working together we can deliver high quality services with increased efficiency and reduced cost.”
North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership (NYBCP), based in Easingwold, was the first Local Authority Building Control Partnership in the UK. NYBCP provides a flexible and modern Building Control service on behalf of Hambleton, Richmondshire, Ryedale, Scarborough and Selby Councils.
