THE onsite café at Lingfield Point Business Park in Darlington is ‘under new management’ – and the company is already looking to invest further in the town.
Dominic Bowers, who runs Totally Delicious which will operate café Loom, says he’s had such a good experience of setting up in Darlington he’s looking for another two outlets.
The café is being reorganised to make it more efficient for people who have a short break and need to ‘grab and go’ as well as those who have a little longer and can sit inside.
“I already have 13 sites across then UK and am looking to expand further. As an owner/manager I drive the business and want to offer genuine career progression and development within the company – to do that we have to grow.
“I have found the people in Darlington helpful and easy to deal with and will be looking around for further opportunities.
“Even though we are operating in a business arena we aren’t a corporate organisation – we are playful, with a fresh look and feel. No-one wants to take their break in a boring, sterile environment.
“The menu is more varied, lighter and seasonal and the staff are keen, committed and enthusiastic.”
Then café will undergo a refit during August to bring it in line with Totally Delicious’ other outlets.
Dominic says I’ll be more like high street experience such as at Pret a Manger or Leon: “As well as a cool new look there will be coffee machines, a sound system, new furniture and a counter that flows.
“We will be keeping the name Loom as it represents the history of the site as a wool factory. I’m really looking forward to delivering what I’ve promised, quality fresh food at fair prices.
“As well as the food, the tempo will change to a mood and pace of positivity,” he said.
Café Loom serves the 3,000-plus people based at Lingfield Point and estate manager Eddie Humphries, said: “It is important that as well as all our other facilities our customers and their staff have access to good, fresh food and somewhere relaxing to eat during their breaks. Dominic and Totally Delicious will bring that and we welcome them to our business community.
“The added bonus is there is a chance of further investment in Darlington which can only be good news.”
