DANCING, love songs and tasty treats gave Thornaby care home residents a Valentine’s Day to remember.
A Valentine’s Ball was held for those living at Mandale House Care Home, with friends, relatives and staff also invited to attend.
The home enjoyed an evening of dancing to love songs and a compilation of fifties and early sixties classics from musical Dreamboats and Petticoats.
They also indulged in a buffet dinner, with fresh cream cakes, and a wide selection of drinks.
Resident Alfred Sarson said: “I loved the Valentine’s Ball. I wasn’t ready for it to end, I was having so much fun.”
Fellow resident Ernest French added: “The evening was amazing. It was so good to be dancing.”
Sarah Robinson, activities coordinator at Mandale House Care Home, on Acklam Road, said: “We wanted to treat our residents to a memorable Valentine’s Day so decided to throw a ball.
“One of our residents, Sheila Slattery, helped us set everything up and choose the music.
“The residents were then joined by staff, relatives and friends for a dance and buffet dinner. Everyone had a wonderful time.”
