TWENTY wine lovers will soon be able to indulge in their passion, after being selected to be part of a unique tasting panel.

North Yorkshire based Bon Coeur Fine Wines invited enthusiasts to apply to be part of its Taste Like A Wine Pro panel, which will see keen novices being sent a selection of wines over a three-month period to review.

The company – which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary – received scores of applications from around the UK and has now whittled them down to a final 20, who will receive its first bottles in the coming weeks.

The panel is made up of wine lovers from across the country, with those selected coming from Scotland, North Yorkshire, across the North East and as far south as Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.

Those selected come from a wide variety of backgrounds, from farmers to bloggers, from educators to a butler, with a number of the panel involved in the food and drink industry in a variety of ways.

James Goodhart, founder of Bon Coeur, said he was delighted with the response.

“We had some amazing people apply and we are very happy with our final panel, which is a great mix of ages and interests,” said James.

“We’re really looking forward to getting started and then being able to share their tasting notes and observations through our website and through our social media channels.”

Bon Coeur Fine Wines is based at Melsonby near Richmond, and prides itself making wine accessible to everyone.

The company is renowned for its expert knowledge and also provides facilities for wine collectors who wish to store their wine or for people wanting to look at wine as an investment opportunity.
