All are welcome to attend a First World War local history fair at Discovery Museum on Tuesday 17 November, 10am – 3pm.
With over twenty stallholders from around the region – including Reflections of Newcastle, Heaton Local History Group and Tynemouth WW1 Group – the event offers enthusiasts the chance to see how community groups have commemorated the centenary of the Great War and learn more about the war’s impact on the home front.
Visitors can also hear from the Heritage Lottery Fund about funding opportunities and other support that is available to help local people realise their First World War commemoration projects.
A tour of the First World War costume store at Discovery Museum with Keeper of History Kylea Little is also available.
The fair, which is free to attend, has been organised by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums.
