Houghton le Spring-based 0800 Repair is in the running for a prestigious award, following a successful 12 months.
The heating, gas, insulation and renewables firm is a finalist in the Boiler & Heating Installer and Contractor of the Year and Insulation & Fabric Installer and Contractor of the Year categories at the 2018 North East Regional Energy Efficiency Awards.
The awards recognise the achievements of companies operating within the energy efficiency sector across the region and their delivery of Government initiatives, including the Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme.
The short listings follow a strong year for 0800 Repair, which has carried out in excess of 10,000 insulation works and 8,000 boiler installations, delivering an estimated, combined saving of 60,000 tons of carbon and £105.5m of lifetime savings.
0800 Repair also works with community networks across the North East to install energy efficient measures into the most fuel poverty-stricken and vulnerable households.
In April 2018, the company was highly commended at the 2018 H&V News Awards in the Domestic Heating Contractor of the Year category, which is regarded as the leading and longest running awards ceremony for the construction, heating and plumbing industry.
0800 Repair became a national company in 2017 – five years ahead of schedule – as a result of securing a landmark, eight-figure contract with npower to deliver a range of ECO services as sole provider to the energy supplier. The company is expecting turnover to rise to in excess of £20m, in 2018.

The 2018 North East Regional Energy Efficiency Awards is taking place at the Gateshead Hilton on 21 June 2018.
