A SPECIAL presentation was held for volunteers at a Hartlepool care home on World Kindness Day.

Staff and residents at Queens Meadow Care Home, on Stockton Road, decided to use the day to thank those who support their activities and events.

A bouquet of flowers was presented to each volunteer by home manager Julie Armstrong and activities coordinator Debbie Wilkes.

Singer Chris Gilfoyle also provided entertainment for the occasion.

The volunteers are all family members of residents at the care home.

They include Carol Jones and her sister Linda Burlinson, daughters of Betty Hewitt, Beryl Mills, daughter of Joan Robinson, Sheila Musgrave, niece of Thelma Williams, and Carol Kimber, daughter of Irene Kimber.

Home manager Julie said: “World Kindness Day was a perfect opportunity to show our gratitude to those who volunteer their time at our events and activities.

“Their support is hugely appreciated by everyone at the care home and we wanted to offer them a small token of that appreciation and remind them how kind and generous they are.”
