Marking its tenth year in business and paving the way for further growth in 2017, Newcastle-based supply teacher agency PK Education has invested more than £100,000 in infrastructure and a rebrand and is now on course to create a further eight jobs.
Lee Carpenter, Director of PK Education which is based on Collingwood Street in the city centre, explained: “We have come a long way since establishing the business. From a two-person office, we now have a network of four offices and a team of more than 40 people helping us drive the business forward. It’s a very exciting time for us and we thought it was an important that our brand reflected our ambition to be a leading supply teacher agency in the UK.”
Owner and designer of Moors Creative, Kristian Moors, who developed the new PK brand said: “We’re very pleased with the new brand. It reflects the dynamic, forward-thinking organisation that PK Education is and sets it apart in what is a very crowded marketplace.
“It wasn’t just a case of designing a new logo, PK Education wanted a complete rebrand to reflect the direction of the company and its growth ambitions. That’s why we focused on a tangram puzzle, which is only a complete square when all the pieces are in the right place; reflecting PK’s approach to recruitment – the right person for the right role.”
Established in 2005, the company broke all records during its tenth year in business exceeding projected turnover by more than 1600% to hit £11 million in the 2015/16 academic year. Staff numbers also increased by more than a third, with the creation of 11 new jobs to manage growth across the company’s four offices based in Newcastle, Sheffield, Nottingham and Birmingham in 2016.
PK Education now employs more than 40 people in consultant and compliance manager roles across the company, managing daily requests from schools for supply teachers, cover supervisors and teaching assistants.
