Screen Shot 2015-11-16 at 15.38.25As part of Ryedale District Councils ongoing drive for efficiency the authority is improving  the way residents can apply for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support.

As well as the option for applying online, or visiting Ryedale House, residents can now apply for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support at Malton Job Centre.

This new location makes access to benefits advice more  convenient to the Councils customers for transport links and for other services and amenities.

From Monday 1st February 2016 the service will be available from 9am to 12.30pm & 1.30pm to 4pm Monday to Friday except for  Wednesdays as the office does not  open until 10am.

The service will be identical to the Benefits service currently provided at Ryedale House and customers will be able to come in and see a Housing Benefit assessor to discuss whether they would be eligible to claim  Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support, assistance with submitting a claim and to report a change of circumstance.

Angela Jones Business Support Manager for Ryedale District Council said “Ryedale District Council is committed to delivering services to customers in the most efficient way and we will continue to develop easier and quicker ways for people to transact their business with the Council”
