Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

After a year of exponential growth Bloom is officially the ‘Highest Climber’ in the Top 200 North East companies

As a year of staggering growth draws to a close, Gateshead-based, Bloom Procurement Services, has been crowned the ‘Highest Climber’ of 2019 in the North East’s Top 200.

The Journal’s Top 200 List is compiled by PwC and ranks the largest companies in the region, by turnover. Their collective performances present a snapshot of the state of the region’s economy and the list embraces the most outstanding companies.

Moving from position 138 right up to 74, climbing an impressive 64 places, Bloom has been awarded the ‘Highest Climber 2019’ award. In the past year, the company’s turnover has increased by 88%, growing from £92m in 2018 to £173m in 2019. What is more impressive is that Bloom was a new entrant in the Top 200 last year on the back of an 82% rise in turnover.

Established in 2012, Bloom provides a full end-to-end marketplace solution for the procurement, contract management and payment of all consultancy and professional services. Bloom’s solution supports and assists the entire UK public sector to buy and manage professional services from a choice of regional and national suppliers.

At present, the growing company has doubled its headcount during the past year and now employs over 65 staff across offices in Gateshead, London and Manchester.

Adam Crampsie, managing director, at Bloom, said: “Winning the ‘Highest Climber’ is a fantastic achievement, especially when you consider the fabulous companies we have in the region. The exponential growth at Bloom is a huge testament to the talent, effort and dedication of the entire team. I have recently joined Bloom at an extremely exciting time for the business. I’m thrilled to join a growing company with a genuine commitment to creating sustainable social value; not only is Bloom growing at an incredible rate, but we are making a real difference. To date, 70% of Bloom’s 5,500 projects have been delivered by SMEs, which has enabled customers to drive important growth back into local economies. We have ambitious growth plans in order to accelerate our market development and we look forward to continued growth”.

Bloom is the exclusive provider of the multi-billion-pound NEPRO³ procurement solution on behalf of NEPO (the North East Procurement Organisation). NEPRO³ will open up procurement opportunities for public sector buyers – giving them access to a constantly evolving supply chain. The solution will deliver substantial savings to the public sector.

Adam Jacobs, founder and executive chairman, at Bloom, added “The Bloom marketplace was established to change the way the world buys professional services; our outcomes-based philosophy is fundamental to this. We have made significant strides in the first step of this journey with the UK public sector, delivering significant outcomes for local communities and creating substantial efficiency savings for over 360 public sector bodies.

“Our roots are in the North East and we will always be committed to the region, however we are devoted to growing our buyer and supplier community to benefit local communities both inside and outside of the region. Having recently attended Medica, the world’s largest event for the medical sector in Germany, and the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, which has been created to develop cities and implement global agendas, we are embarking on driving growth and importing innovation into the Bloom marketplace on a global scale. At Bloom, our mission is simple: to enable buying organisations to work with the best suppliers, to provide the best value, and to make the procurement of professional services far less complicated for all concerned. It’s an honour to be recognised for the positive impact we are having on the North East economy, and that’s just the beginning!”
