Stratus Technologies have taken on two new apprentices to compensate for the rapidly growing demand for their IT and Telecoms services.

Lee Todd, 21 and Ben Kasper, 23 have both been taken on as apprentices on 12-month contracts. Working alongside Service Manager Dale Waring, they will be helping deliver orders at Stratus, as well as providing support from the provisioning stage to follow-up.

The new appointments come at an exciting time for Stratus, with the recent new structure changes altering the daily running of the company. They are firmly in a state of progression, with orders doubling in the last 6 months and growth aspirations of £10 million within the next 5 years.

Dale feels positive about this outlook for Stratus: “Taking into account the surge in orders we’ve had, it was an easy decision to bring on more staff. We’ve had good experiences with past apprentices, and it’s a great way to get young people from the area into work, so it really was the obvious choice for us.”

In recent years, Stratus have begun to develop a positive track record with apprentices, with a number of their employees having been taken on with similar contracts, and many of them securing full time positions on their completion.

Of the new recruits, Dale said: “So far, they’re living up to the standards set by our previous apprentices. Both Lee and Ben are proving to be quick learners and in the short time they’ve been with the company, they are showing great potential and I can’t wait to see them progress over the next few months.”

On his appointment, Lee said: “I’ve already been welcomed into Stratus and was made to feel a valued part of the team from the start. I’ve already learnt a lot and I’m looking forward to the next few months to see where it takes me”.

Ben shares the sentiment: “My first month has been great. I’ve been given responsibility and feel trusted as part of the team. Really, I’m just excited for the year ahead and showing what I can do.”

With the ambitious growth aspirations in place for Stratus, Dale hopes that the company will keep- being able to create more job opportunities for young people in the local area and taking on more apprentices in the near future
