Bernicia is delighted to receive the prestigious Princess Royal Training Award for its leadership and staff development training programme.
The Princess Royal Training Awards is a new honour for employers in the UK that have created lasting impact by successfully linking their skills development needs to business performance.
Andrea Malcolm, Director of People and Business Support at Bernicia said: “At Bernicia we have created the environment for staff to flourish and are delighted that our leadership and development programme has been recognised for this prestigious award. Over the past five years over 80 members of staff have benefited from the training, helping to contribute to the continued success of the business.”
Delivered for the first time this year by City & Guilds Group, the awards will culminate at a prestigious awards ceremony taking place on 24 November 2016 at St James’s Palace.
34 UK businesses from a wide range of sizes and sectors have achieved the prestigious Princess Royal Training Awards standard of excellence in training. The announcement follows the adjudication of the Princess Royal Training Awards Commission, composed of ten leading figures in the business and learning & development community and HRH the Princess Royal, who is the President of the City & Guilds Group.
Pat Stringfellow MBE, Chair of the Princess Royal Training Awards Commission and Trustee of City and Guilds of London Institute said: “The clear message we have seen emerging from the awards is that making a strategic link between your training and business goals can lead to amazing outcomes. I would like to congratulate all the successful applicants for the Princess Royal Training Awards 2016, and encourage them to share their success and their stories.”
City & Guilds Group Chief Executive, Chris Jones commented: “Excellence doesn’t happen by chance. In today’s uncertain economy, more than ever, employers must align investment in training to the objectives of their business. Whether they’ve addressed a skills gap, improved productivity or developed new leaders to grow their businesses, the awarded organisations deserve recognition.”
