Beyond Housing has invested around £400,000 in eleven new one-bedded flats in Eston.
Little used communal rooms at Leicester, Lancaster, Northampton and Berkshire House in the Church Lane area of Eston have been converted into the units, providing much-needed accommodation for single people or couples.
The work included new electrics and wiring, new partitions, ceilings and plastering, redecoration and carpeting. The properties also have brand new fitted kitchens and bathrooms with a shower cubicle.
A similar project in Saltburn will commence shortly and complete next year.
Tom Hainey, Director of Property and Development at Beyond Housing said: “This conversion project has enabled us to bring underutilised areas in the four buildings back into use for housing to help meet local housing requirements.
“Beyond Housing prides itself on being a leading regeneration company and the flats have been refurbished to a good standard. They have brought the areas back to life, providing affordable homes for which there is a strong demand.”
