Blyth RNLI volunteers come together to do their bit to fund their kit

Blyth RNLI volunteer crew recently held their crew car wash as part of the RNLI’s national Mayday campaign.

On Saturday 11 May 2019 Blyth RNLI volunteer crew had their crew car wash which coincides with the annual RNLI Mayday campaign. The charity’s fundraising campaign aims to raise funds to purchase crew kit which is vital for the volunteer crew to be able to continue saving lives at sea.

This year Blyth RNLI had the support from Spectrum and Autosmart International who supplied the car washing products and TSG Marine supplied yellow wellies so all the crews feet stayed dry.

The Crew Car Wash also has volunteers from the Station’s Ladies Guild providing tea, coffee and cakes together with volunteers in the Station’s shop selling a range of RNLI merchandise.

Barry Pearson, Lifeboat Operations Manager for Blyth RNLI said;’It’s been another fantastic event with all the volunteers connected with the lifeboat station coming together to make it a success.I’d like to thank the public for their support and giving so generously with their donations, we raised £649.10 on the day.I’d also like to thank Spectrum, Autosmart International and TSG Marine who also make this event possible.’
