Housing provider, Byker Community Trust (BCT) has organised its annual family fun day this Wednesday, July 22 between 12.00pm and 4.00pm.
The organisation, which owns and manages 1,800 homes on the Byker Estate in Newcastle upon Tyne, has invited all of their tenants to its ever popular annual fun day.
Last year saw a record attendance of 1,000 tenants and the BCT is hoping that this year’s event will be just as popular.
The event brings the whole community together and gives staff from the BCT and their partners, an opportunity to engage with tenants to find out their opinions about how they can improve the standard of services they deliver and what it’s like to live on the Byker Estate.
Activities will be available for all ages including music and dance, sports games, a bouncy castle and mega slide, petting zoo, soft play and arts and crafts. The theme for this year’s event is based around rugby and a game of tag rugby will be organised. Everyone who attends will also be treated to free hots dogs and ice cream.
Jill Haley, Chief Executive of the BCT, said: “The event is always very well attended by tenants and the local community and it is an opportunity for us to engage to find out their views on the services we deliver but more importantly, how we can improve our services to tenants.
“The Byker Estate is going through a radical period of change with refurbishment of the iconic Grade II* listed Byker Wall and works to replace the district heating system.
“There will be a host of activities organised for all ages and I am hoping this year’s event will continue to be a huge success.”
The Byker family fun day will be held on the Lower Harbottle Field off Harbottle Road on the Byker Estate.
