The outgoing Chairman of Hambleton District Council has handed over £1000 to charity.

Councillor John Noone chose the Yorkshire Air Ambulance to support during his year in office.

This is a very important charity which does a marvellous job,” he said.

“It costs £12,000 per day to keep both of the Yorkshire’s Air Ambulances in the air and they rely solely on donations. Anyone of us could need the service at any time – especially living in a rural area where we have to travel further to get to a hospital.

“I am pleased to have been able to use my Chairman’s year to support this vital service.”
