intu Metrocentre starts the official countdown to Christmas this weekend with a two day extravaganza filled with fantasy, fun and festive entertainment.
The Winter Weekend kicks off this Saturday (17 November) with magical characters, roaming entertainment and live performances for the whole family to enjoy.
Visitors of all ages can dive into the giant ball pit in intu Metrocentre’s Exhibition Square before heading over to Town Square to meet Bjorn the Polar Bear, while fairy-tale princesses and the 99th Garrison will be delighting shoppers on the malls.
In addition to the super-size characters, Game of Thrones fans can capture the perfect Instagram shot on intu Metrocentre’s very own Iron Throne, situated in the lower Green mall.
This weekend also marks the opening of the free Santa’s Grotto on the ground floor of the Qube (lower Yellow mall), where little ones on the nice list will have the chance to tell Father Christmas their wishes and receive a small complimentary gift.
Gavin Prior, regional director at intu Metrocentre, said: “Christmas is always such a special time for us here at intu Metrocentre with sparkling decorations, gifts galore and exciting winter-long activities for everyone to enjoy.
“We’re looking forward to spreading the joy and welcoming families into the centre to make the most of our free entertainment, guaranteed to get everyone in the festive spirit this weekend!”
From Monday 19 November until 02 January, intu Metrocentre will be extending its opening hours, giving shoppers a few extra hours to find ‘The Impossible Gift’ before the big day.
