Cocktail Queen Raises a Toast to the New Princess

Screen Shot 2015-05-05 at 13.43.51THE woman behind top Tyneside bar, Tiger Hornsby, has created a special cocktail to toast the new royal baby – as she prepares to welcome her own.

While most mums-to-be are occupied preparing for their own arrivals, entrepreneur Rachael Frame, 36, spent the run-up to the royal delivery with her team of mixologists, fine tuning the recipe for the celebratory drink.

Now, visitors to Tiger Hornsby, Quayside, Newcastle, will be able to raise a glass to HRH Princess Charlotte of Cambridge – although, Rachael plans to stick to fizzy water for the time being.

The cocktail is a special blend of Veuve Cliquot Champagne, Bitter Truth Elderflower Liqueur and pomegranate syrup and is on sale at the bar for £10.

“With my own baby due in a matter of weeks I’ve been following the Duchess of Cambridge’s pregnancy with avid interest,” said Rachael.

“Princess Charlotte is lovely and Kate looked absolutely radiant when she left the hospital – I only hope I look half as good!”

Tiger Hornsby, at the Quayside, is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 2am, Fridays and Saturdays from 3pm to 3am, and Sundays from 3pm to midnight.  Admission is free.
