Ryedale District Council’s Community Grant scheme is now open to new applications. The scheme has helped hundreds of projects in towns and villages across Ryedale over the years to improve playgrounds, sports pitches, village halls, the local environment and social enterprises and to put on events and activities for people young and old in sports, arts, and general community wellbeing.
“Last year, we supported 37 projects with the £45,000 budget” said Council Leader, Linda Cowling. “It is particularly encouraging to hear about the success of these projects and the way local communities have used them to have a great impact on quality of life in Ryedale.”
Grants of up to £5,000 are available and application forms are available at www.ryedale.gov.uk or telephone 01653 600666. Applications can be submitted on line, although it is advisable to contact the Council in advance for help and advice getting your project ready. There are two rounds with closing dates of 30 September 2016 and 31 January 2017. For more information contact Gail Cook, Community Projects Officer at Ryedale District Council. gail.cook@ryedale.gov.uk or telephone 01653 600666 ext 314.
