Chris Kean, who has successfully managed his own business, Kean Media – a website design company based at the North East Business & Innovation Centre – for four years, has joined forces with his partner, digital marketing specialist Senga Maria Crosby, to launch newly named dodio – The Do Studio.

The agency, which offers services including web design, social media management, pay per click (PPC) advertising, email marketing, SEO, and brand management, already has a host of clients under its belt.

Senga Crosby, marketing director at dodio, said that she was excited about the potential to expand the business.

She said: “What Chris and I offer as a team is something different.  Chris is a really talented web designer, which has allowed him to run Kean Media profitably for more than four years.  Brought together with my skills in digital marketing, we are able to offer a complete digital solution, ensuring that clients get everything they need under one roof.

“We are really excited about the potential to grow the business, and hope to add to the team within a year.”

dodio is one of a growing number of Sunderland based software and digital businesses with ambitious plans for growth and has been supported in its development by Sunderland City Council’s Business Investment Team.

Councillor Paul Watson, leader of Sunderland council, said that the city is becoming known nationally as a place for software and digital industries.

He said: “dodio is one of many fantastic young businesses that are putting the city on the map for its innovation and technical know-how.

“We recognise the importance of businesses like this one, in supporting the city economy and creating jobs for people across the North East, and so we do what we can to back them – to offer the right support and information to guide them to success.”

The company is working with a number of regional businesses and is an NBSL approved supplier, meaning companies that use its services can gain access to funding to support with the costs of their project.
