A young Teesside entrepreneur is launching a wellness platform to tackle productivity issues brought on by the increase in home working due to Coronavirus.

The Chief Executive of Productive Plus, whose clients include Thirteen Group, has pivoted the health and wellbeing company to accommodate the virtual nature of business during lockdown.

After identifying a downward trend in productivity in some of his contacts whilst speaking to them remotely, Harry Rowbotham, 22, designed his innovative platform Platinum Wellbeing.

The experienced occupational health specialist said: “A lot of my work involved visiting businesses and talking with staff about their work and trying to improve their processes and habits in order for them to make the most of the working day.

“But since lockdown, because this has not been possible, I was at a crossroads where I could sit back and wait for this all to blow over, or I could try and adapt to the current situation to help others.”

With a small monthly fee and key worker discount, Platinum Wellbeing is an online community which uses daily content such as workouts, seminars, healthy recipes and live classes and ‘someone to talk’ phone support to help members normalise their working day.

Harry continued: “After canvassing some of my clients, I discovered many that are new to working at home are finding it a challenging to remain switched on 9-5.

“Without being in the presence of other colleagues, it is difficult to remain motivated, and can become very lonely. It can also prove rather unhealthy, with long periods of inactivity without lunch time walks or coffee breaks.”

The platform is not just aimed at people working from home, as Harry explained: “Not being able to leave the house more than once a day has drastically changed the lives of all of us, and now more than ever, people are looking for support.

“We have a programme of guest speakers and editors that will offer advice on all aspects of daily life, from finance to parenting, so there will be plenty of content to benefit everyone.

The platform will continue operating post lockdown, as businesses learn to adapt to new working patterns designed to reduce overheads.
