TDR Training Ltd has announced plans to recruit 30 new apprentices following a recent acquisition of a North East technical training business.
Following the purchase of the Engineering Training Centre (ETC) from British Engines, an acquisition supported by advice from Square One Law, TDR is aiming to recruit a group of new apprentices across disciplines including Engineering, Science and Business Administration.
The recruitment drive is part of TDR’s commitment to creating a sustainable pipeline of employment for the North East with the provision of skilled and motivated individuals across a range of industries.
TDR’s expansion is also in anticipation of the changing landscape of technical training and apprenticeships, which is expected to be heavily influenced by the Government’s new industrial strategy. TDR is committed to supporting the strategy by delivering apprenticeship programmes that provide successful employment outcomes. Creating opportunities for young people to earn while they learn, these training programmes can lead to careers with salary potential of between £20,000 and £50,000 per year.
The apprenticeship programmes, which enable trainees to gain practical skills and recognised vocational qualifications, also provide a route to funded degree courses preventing students from incurring debt.
The ETC, which has been amalgamated into TDR’s existing business, increases its capabilities and resources utilising specialist equipment, secured from British Engines as part of the acquisition, and its team of experienced training professionals. Square One Law, provided the legal support to manage the TUPE transfer of 17 ETC employees to TDR. And as part of the ETC acquisition, Square One Law also negotiated the asset purchase agreement on behalf of TDR and the Skills Funding Agency transfer.
