Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

From Football To Fairground For A Day of Family Fun

black cats largeOne of the North East’s most iconic venues is swapping football for the fairground, with activities for all ages taking place next week.

The Stadium of Light, home to Premier League side Sunderland AFC, will be transformed into a fun size fairground for the return of its annual Black Cats Family Fun Day on Saturday July 2.

The event, which runs from 1.30pm until 6pm, will include dodgems, bouncy castles and rides for all ages, as well as appearances from magicians, balloon artists, fairytale princesses and SAFC mascots Samson and Delilah.

Backstage tours of the Stadium of Light will be running throughout the afternoon, offering families the chance to follow in the footsteps of their idols and take a run down the tunnel or sit in the dugout.

There will also be a chance for visitors to test their own ball skills with a professional football freestyler, as well as small games, speed cages and drills hosted by coaches from Sunderland AFC’s charity, the Foundation of Light.

“Delilah and I always have so much fun at the Black Cats Family Fun Day,” said SAFC mascot Samson. “There is so much on offer for fans of all ages and we can’t wait to see everyone again this year.”

Tickets for the Black Cats Family Fun Day, which has sold out in previous years, are on sale now from the Stadium of Light ticket office or via 0871 911 1973, priced at £7.50 each.

Parents and guardians can also register under 16s for Sunderland AFC’s junior supporters club by visiting www.safc.com/juniorblackcats
