North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

The future is developing into a bright one for local software company

A local supplier management software company is celebrating after experiencing considerable business growth over the past year.

Trade Interchange has expanded its team by 40 percent in 12 months, and has moved its head office from London to Teesside in an effort to centralise its operations and add to the digital revolution of the region.

As well as this, the company has won some key contracts with large and international blue chip clients across various sectors, including foodservice and hospitality, facilities management and retail.

Part of Trade Interchange’s successful growth strategy includes working closely with north east based institutions, such as Teesside University and the North East England Chamber of Commerce, to attract the best local professionals to join its growing team of 21.

Mike Edmunds, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Trade Interchange, said: “As a growing business in Teesside, we are committed to bringing local, talented individuals into the company, and our work with the Chamber and Teesside University is helping us achieve this.

“We currently employ three graduates from Teesside University and are hoping to increase this number by rolling out projects with the School of Computing from now into 2017, including sponsorships, placement opportunities as well as internships.

“We are also exploring other ways to recruit, and have recently employed a QA Software Engineer Apprentice through the Northern Skills Group, who is proving to be a real asset to the team.”

Northern Skills Group is the commercial training arm of Middlesbrough College, and combines the expertise and experience of the college and the Chamber’s former training arm – NECC Training.

Tom Warnock, Relationship Manager at North East England Chamber of Commerce, said: “It’s great to see that Trade Interchange is realising the benefits of their membership, and we congratulate them on the successes so far.”

Trade Interchange’s cloud-based ARCUS® Supplier Management Platform is specifically designed and developed to address supplier and contractual risk, supplier performance management and eSourcing, and supports many leading brands including Morrisons, Whitbread, Pizza Express and Sodexo.

Edmunds added:  “It is an exciting time for Trade Interchange as we embark upon the next stage of our journey which includes expanding our efforts globally.

“We are dedicated to recruiting the best local candidates into our dynamic team, whose hard work and dedication continues to drive our success, and is ultimately what our business is built on.”
