GAS goes global with move into the Republic of Ireland

CaptureA cost reduction specialist has made its first foray into international markets by expanding into the Republic of Ireland.

Great Annual Savings Group (GAS) enjoyed twelve months of rapid growth in 2015, moving to bigger premises in Seaham and trebling headcount to more than 100 staff.

Now the firm, which helps businesses save money on a range of variable costs, has launched a sales division to service the growing Ireland market.  In just a few weeks since the launch the company has built up a portfolio of customers in the country and generated almost £100,000 of sales.

The move into Eire is part of GAS’ long-term strategy of growing its share of key strategic markets.

Bradley Groves, chief executive and chairman of Great Annual Savings Group, said: “Our expansion into the Republic of Ireland marks a significant milestone in the firm’s growth story. We’ve come a long way since last January, when we had about 30 staff operating from our former South Shields office and a customer base that was largely made up of companies in the North East and Yorkshire.

“Since then we’ve trebled the size of the business, built a portfolio of customers in other areas of the UK and bolstered our management team with several key appointments.  We are on track to expand at a similar rate in 2016.”

GAS helps businesses reduce their variable costs and save money in a range of areas including energy procurement, energy and water cost management, fire safety, telecoms and insurance. Launched in 2012, the company has more than 100 staff operating from its headquarters on the Spectrum Business Park in Seaham. The aim is to hire another 50-60 staff by the middle of 2016 – a move that would take total headcount to 150.
