Hambleton leisure centres are participating in next week’s International Men’s Health Week (12 – 18 June).
This year the week will focus on the potential risks of carrying too much belly fat.
Regardless of how much you actually weigh, carrying large amounts of belly fat increases the risk of developing conditions such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.
The four centres in Bedale, Northallerton, Stokesley and Thirsk are giving away free Zest discount cards to men that attend the centres or sign up for a Zest discount card online. The Zest discount card can be used at any of the centres to get discounts on pay-as- you-go activities.
In addition the centres are also offering free health and fitness consultations.
Ten minute drop-in sessions are taking place at:
Stokesley Leisure Centre – Monday 12 June between 11am and 1pm
Thirsk & Sowerby Leisure Centre – Monday 12 June between 12noon and 2pm
Bedale Leisure Centre – Tuesday 13 June between 9.30 and 11.30am
Hambleton Leisure Centre – Thursday 15 June between 11am and 1pm
Everyone attending will receive a free Zest goody bag and a copy of the Men’s Health Week book – The Man Manual.
