PIZZA, play time and party games are on the menu this month as a leading children’s venue in Newcastle celebrates its first birthday.

The Playhouse, within Pizza Dough Co, at Gosforth’s Three Mile, is a huge hit with little ones and parents alike, with its children’s party packages proving particularly popular.

And now the multi-activity, jungle-themed children’s soft play centre – owned by leading hospitality provider Malhotra Group plc – is holding its own birthday party and everyone’s invited.

On Thursday, 27 February, from 1pm-3pm, guests can enjoy party games, face painting, a balloon artist and an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet with salad, fries and unlimited squash.

There will also be unlimited soft play, when children can clamber over netting and tackle a variety of safe and structured obstacles in a variety of inter-connected zones, always within sight of their parents or guardians.

And, if they need a little quiet time, those aged three and under can settle down in a chill out area, complete with bean bag seating and an assortment of child friendly tv shows and films.

“It promises to be a wonderful party with everything you might expect to keep little ones and their parents entertained,” said Alice Middleton, Group Business Development Manager at Malhotra Group plc.

“And we hope as many as possible will come along and celebrate our first birthday with us.”

The Playhouse is one of the city’s most popular party venues, where young hosts and their guests can enjoy an hour-long play session, create their own pizzas, enjoy bottomless juice and make their own chef’s hats.

And bookings for the current quarter – January to April 2025 – are already on track to outstrip last August to December’s figures.

The Playhouse has been “absolutely embraced by the local community and families from further afield,” said Alice.

“Each section has a different appeal, with a full range of completely safe, multi-sensory activities – and all within sight of parents or guardians, who can relax with a drink and something to eat,” she said.

The Playhouse is open from 9.30am to 7pm Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 7pm on Saturday and from 10.30am to 6pm on Sunday and there is a height restriction of 148cm for users.

Tickets for the party – which cost £15 per adult and per child with adult tickets including a drink voucher – must be pre-booked and can be purchased at
