A Hartlepool teenager is following in the footsteps of her grandmother by joining the payroll bureau at local accountants and business advisers Waltons Clark Whitehill.
Kate Wells, 17, follows her grandmother Kath Wells, who worked in the tax and payroll teams for a number of years. Kath first joined Waltons Clark Whitehill in 1984 and spent the majority of the following years working there, until her retirement in October 2013.
Kate successfully completed her GCSEs at St Hild’s Church of England School in Hartlepool before applying for the role of Payroll Assistant at Waltons Clark Whitehill. She is currently assisting with administration in the busy department, and is studying for a payroll diploma and for her Association of Accounting Technicians Qualification.
Heather O’Driscoll, Managing Director of Waltons Clark Whitehill, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Kate to the team, her strong work ethic and professional manner have already impressed us. We are expanding our capacity to ensure we continue to provide our high quality service as we assist an increasing number of business with their auto enrolment compliance.”
Kate Wells said: “I’m excited to be starting a career in accountancy, and following in my grandmothers’ footsteps. I’ve joined a great company, where they invest in their employees, so I’m able to work towards a good career.”
